iphone 3g

been using it for a while already now, 2 weeks to b in exact ... remembered received it on the 10th of August 2008 fully packed with an O2 paper bag directly from uk ... it was really special when i received it. came together with a very nice n stylish black red belkin silicone protector ... really hv to thank her for goin thru all d troubles getting the iphone 3g back here to me ... thanks honglee :)

i shud hv posted this way back when i received it but was quite busy so didn't really had d chance to ... tonight seems to b quite early, n free so juz felt like posting something in this little blog :)

before this i was using ipod touch which i got last year but since the news of iphone 3g came out, i knew i wanted 1 so juz decided to sell my ipodtouch n get it. indeed now i'm using it already ... really delighted to say tat

mayb most of u might hv known or read it some place but there's juz something i would like to put down on this blog. some pros n cons i've realized after a while from using the iphone 3g.

let's start off with some bad news against d iphone 3g :-
- it doesn't forward sms
- it doesn't send/receive mms
- it doesn't record videos
- it doesn't record sound
- it doesn't send/receive bluetooth files
- the stock update is delayed for 20mins (is this needed then?)
- the speaker phone function isn't tat good (nokia has one of the best so far)
- the back cover will b covered with prints if there wasn't any protectors
- the camera is still 2.0mp without autofocus
- white version only available in 16gb
- the map function only works in countries with full roadmap (not in malaysia "yet")

here're some updates from the iphone 3g :-
- the back cover has been redesigned into a glossy surface with curves
- it's better to hold on the hands compared to the previous model
- the ringer controls to the left is now in silver
- the headphones jack has been relocated on top with a standard 3.5mm jack
- it's preloaded with firmware 2.0 which comes with App Store
- there's a whole load of applications ready to download and install from app store
- 3g data transfer is fast~!! (compared to the edge version last time)
- there's a-gps (assisted gps) function which utilizes google map and gps function together to find out where u are and how u're moving
- the screen will automatically turn off when u have the phone close to ur ear (light sensor to b exact)
- another function added which i kinda like would be the native chinese input methods(pinyin and handwriting recognition) which i consider to b one of the most accurate n user friendly with T9 included :)


conclusion
it's still something quite addictive and cool to use :) plus, it's an apple ...

btw, a colleague of mine bought a white 16gb unit from some forum for rm3300 ... hopefully he treasures it juz like me ... mine is ... priceless

a new toy

today's my offday, took some time to walk around town n i bought a new toy for myself ... an acoustic guitar, my first acoustic guitar i got for myself (my classical one broke, literally broke into pieces and another older one needed some new strings)

i'm not really good at playing but i do like to play around with the guitar :) some simple songs and also nice songs which i like, hehe. i play d guitar when i'm happy, when i'm unhappy, when i feel like playing it...feels so nice to b able to play out whatever there is in u. i would wanna play d piano but sadly i don't know how to, plus it will also be disturbing to my family and also the neighbours too ... haha, so better stick to a guitar ...

i bought this guitar in bentley's music store in bukit bintang, d sales person was quite nice showing me some special guitars, but i walked in n saw this acoustic guitar which i kinda liked. he offered me to try it out on an amplifier coz it's an acoustic guitar with pickup. sounded pretty nice n also feels pretty nice too ... hehe, came back from dinner juz now n took it out to play. here's the first song i played with my guitar ...

watched it today finally, hehe ... had a busy week before this so didn't get to watch it last week. had to prepare for exams, then there was pc fair. watched it with 8 other colleagues in times square...

conclusion: sound effect was nice, cg was nice (computer graphics), cast was nice, storyline was so so, acting was so so ... entertaining? funny in a few parts but other than tat it's not tat good :)

so fast for the conclusion, haha. hmm, we had quite a few laughs in between ... not really action packed as expected ... surprisingly isabella leong had a role in it, there's also anthony wong playing the opposite role supporting jet li as a villian. heard that d movie was banned from screening in china due to the fact tat the emperor was played as a villian but tat's not d real fact. d role of brendan fraser's wife was taken up by maria bello, not as entertaining as rachel weisz but she did okay ... it's her big break anywayz :) michelle yeoh (playing isabella leong's immortal mother) had very few frames where she showed up (amazingly able to converse in english : we concluded tat she studied english for the past 1000 years?) n had a really short fight with jet li before committing suicide to steal something from him. the story was a bit unlogical but which movie isn't? hehe, there's a father-son story engraved in d movie too ... do watch out for it.

if u like to watch cg or love sound systems, go ahead n enjoy urself :) or else, it's juz another movie ... don't put up too high hopes or else u'll come out feeling rather dissapointed. (i did ;p)

wat a day ... why would i say? juz came back from a hectic day @ work ... been busy since 11am (d time where i start work) straight up till 11pm ... 11pM? yup ... u've seen it right, it's 11pm ... todays d 3rd of August 2008 ... d final day of PC Fair(II)2008 in kl (d city i live in). usually we close at 8pm in d store but today is a bit unusual, pc fairs here start from 11am till 9pm. considering d time we get to packup, settle all d bills n payments, pack n seal everything into boxes, moving them to the truck parked up at d loading bay after a long long turtle queue n transporting all those stuffs back to d store, we need some time :)

this time around, i didn't participate in d fair ... instead i was at d arrival hall in lowyatplaza to meet up with them n unload everything from d truck back into d store in 3rd floor. tat took some time too ... but with d help of around 20odd colleagues, we managed to complete everything within an hour :) *tat was onli d unloading part, hehehe*

after that we headed for a tradition supper during d last day of pc fair where colleagues who stayed back n helped out get to have a great meal under d company's expenses :) of coz, d boss has d word to order ... d group juz gets bigger n bigger, this time we had 3 separate tables. we had quite a sumptuous meal with 9 dishes per table, each with it's own taste n flavor. on my table was 7 guyz n a girl including myslef, guess d bowls of rice we had? our table ordered n finished 22 regular bowls of rice where i was accounted for 4 of em ... d lady of coz didn't eat d rice n also her bf (my supervisor), other than tat we had at least 3 bowls each. other tables didn't manage to b on par with our feat ... took some pictures, n i onli manage to take 1 since i was d last to finish up *slow for being a bit talkative* so here's d picture :) colleagues from d other tables were shocked, hehe...try tat 1 day n post me ur blog or send me ur picture to see how much can u finish :)
