on the 27th of May 2009, the UEFA Champions League Finals was held in Rome where the battle of Barcelona and Manchester United took place. the winner of this league will call themselves the champions of europe which is a great achievement.

a brief explanation of the Champions League here. each and every country in europe plays football and has a league on their own. with many clubs competing in the league, they divide in into several different leagues ranking from the top to bottom. mostly, 1 country would hv 2 or mayb 3 leagues. each league consists of 20 clubs or more.

for instance, in Italy, the top league would be called Serie-A, 2nd division would be called Serie-B. in England, the top league would be called the Premier League (where most ppl would watch), 2nd division would be called the League Championships and so on.

how do u make it into the Champions League? the Champions League has 32 clubs in the competition. so it is fairly simple, juz be the top 3 teams of the league in ur country and u are qualified to enter the Champions League. and why is called the European Champions League? because only clubs from England, France, Spain, Italy, Holland, Russia, Denmark, Sweden are qualified to enter the Champions League which makes it 24 out of 32 teams. what about the remaining place? the 4th team of the league have to play a qualifying round with the other 4th members of other leagues to fight for the last spot in the Champions League which fills up all the 32spots in the Champions League.

clear so far? hehe, anyhow...it's a battle between all the top teams in their country in 1 big league. that's why it is so good to watch compared to other matches.

andres iniesta - he's one of the best midfielder

i watched the final between Barcelona and Manchester United despite it all being telecast live at 2.45am +8GMT. the opening ceremony was very grand with the stage being set so beautifully. the 90minutes throughout the game was quite entertaining as well eventhough it was late at nite. Barcelona indeed played very well but Manchester did have some tricks up their sleeves. all in all, it was good to watch.

Click HERE if you would like to read on the report that night.

lionel messi - most probably the world player of the year 2009

f.c barcelona - won all 3 cups in 1 season
