PS3 Slim FF13 (Japan Version)

after their launch of the 120gb slim version, sony entertainment has already sold 1Million units of PS3 slim within 3weeks (why do u think so? becoz it's only USD$300!) and u can actually get some imported sets here locally from "distributors" for as low as RM1200 without any games bundled. surely u can either grab one unit right now or wait for the malaysia version to be launched locally for a much lower price :)

anyway, sony japan juz announced their 250gb limited edition final fantasy 13 version due to be launched on the 12th of December 2009 at about $150 higher. isn't it nice to have a pretty cool image stuck on ur ps3 slim? :)

it's still a nice console to play blu-ray videos, surf the net and enjoy awesome high-def games...get it while it's hot!

HD format

i guess u've all heard of several HD format discs available everywhere, such as Blu-Ray Discs (Sony+Pioneer) or HD-DVD (Toshiba) but i guess u've never heard of something called CBHD(Optical Memory National Engineering Research Center [OMNERC] of Tsinghua University)?

don't want to elaborate too much on the details of how all these work :)

CBHD (china blue high definition/中国蓝光高清光盘) is a new type of disc format available in china, apparently its features are quite similar to HD-DVD (which ceded in 2008 after the movie industry voted to support Blu-Ray) except in certain terms of compression and copy protection. this CBHD is available in china in early 2009 but has already dominates the HD market share in china, leading 3% ahead of blu-ray discs, eventhough blu-ray discs were launched back in february 2008.

this new format has also received recognition and support by Warner Bros. where they have launched several titles such as Harry Potter series and blockbuster movie Blood Diamond in CBHD format back in March 2009.

wonder wat's the price for this CBHD format? it's stated to be sold at 50 - 70 yuan (25 - 35 ringgit malaysia) per discs which i think is a killer to blu-ray discs! do hope that this product would be made available worldwide as it will definitely manage to fully battle out piracy and everybody can really enjoy what is really called High-Definition!!

until then, we can only drool to what we see playing in front of sony centers, or video stores on their full HD screens in Blu-ray formats which costs a bomb. i wonder if those awesome chinese can make a "playstation 3" running CBHD format. that would be a PS3 killer! haha
